Heritage Exhibits closes its doors <Exhibit City News> Exhibit City News is reporting that Heritage Exhibits Chicago shut down operations on Sept. 25. Founded more than 50 years ago, the custom tradeshow exhibit design and fabrication firm at one time operated seven locations nationwide, but had already downsized to one Chicago area office. New Fun Features at RSMGC 2006! The 2006 Randy Smith Memorial Golf Classic which takes place on October 9 at the Berkeley Hills CC in Duluth, GA has a couple of new wrinkles to this year’s event. In addition to the Putting Contest which debuted at last year’s event, there will be a Long Drive Contest this year. Those that don’t have success Putting for Dough can Drive for Show when they bring out those 500cc toaster ovens on a stick and try to hit the clubhouse from the Red Tees on King 9. As in past years there will be trophies for the low gross foursomes (First, Second and Third place) in this scramble format event, along with prizes for Closest to the Pin, and Long Drive holes. But this year there will also be a Consolation Prize for the foursome with the highest gross score – free golf lessons from The PGA Store! Alongside the golf, the Round Robin Tennis tournament promises to be a more exciting event this year. Supported by Founding Sponsors – Champion Nationwide Contractor and Metropolitan Exposition Services; Lunch Sponsor – Kuehne Nagel; and On Court Beveeage Sponsor – AV Network; this year’s tennis players will be treated to a great day of tennis, refreshments, prizes and fun! If you haven’t already made your contribution to support the 2006 Randy Smith Memorial Golf Classic please do that soon! While spots in the golf tournament are nearly gone, there are still many opportunities to support this year’s event with your Sponsor and/or Family Patron contributions. And, it you’re paying by credit card don’t forget to use the credit card billing address on the form! Expotechnik to Host RSMGC Reception Once Again!! All RSMGC participants and sponsors are reminded that Expotechnick will once again host the RSMGC Welcome Reception for all RSMGC sponsors, participants and recipients on Sunday, October 8 from 7pm to 10pm. RSMGC Seeks Raffle /Silent Auction Items. The organizers of the Randy Smith Memorial Golf Classic (Oct. 9 at Berkeley Hills CC in Atlanta, GA) request that all participants, sponsors, and supporters take a look in their marketing closets for any items that can be donated to the Raffle or the Silent Auction that takes place at this year’s event. Past RSMGC Raffle and Silent Auction items have included memorabilia, collectibles, sporting event tickets, sporting equipment (particularly golf equipment), cases of wine, and other high value products. ASTRO EAC Deadline. The EAC registration deadline for the 2006 ASTRO Show approaches! The EAC deadline for ASTRO is October 2, 2006.

CHICAGO CHAPTER ANNOUNCEMENT
MPEA No Smoking Enforcement Announcement
The MPEA will be strictly enforcing the No Smoking Policy during the IMTS Show, and thereafter. All EACA members, as well as all contractors working in McCormick Place and the Navy Pier should take note. Citation books have been ordered and will be issued to all offenders. McCormick Place Fire Safety & Security along with reps from the Contract Security Company, Show Management and GES will be forming teams to rove each building looking for violators. Exhibitgroup/Giltspur continues its nationwide growth
Carl Clouse, Sales Director in Chicago, joined the company in the first week of September. During sixteen years at Motorola, he held positions in both domestic and international marketing groups, while advancing from Senior International Promotion Planner to Senior Manager, Strategic Marketing for the internet software and content group.
Angie Bozeman has been hired as an Account Executive at Dallas TLH. Her sales background includes work with GE Modular Space and with Waste Management. Her degree is in business administration from Georgia State University in Atlanta.
Theresa Ngo-Anh joins the San Jose staff as a Sales Executive. Ngo-Anh was the former enterprise sales account manager with SYNNEX Corporation in Fremont, California. Finally, Albert Chan is the newest member of the EG Design Network and is based in the Pittsburgh office.
GES PROMOTES ANGELA ARMSTRONG TO DIRECTOR OF SALES, INTERMOUNTAIN REGION LAS VEGAS, September 27, 2006 – GES Exposition Services, Inc. has promoted Angela Armstrong to director of sales of the company’s Intermountain region with responsibility for Denver, Phoenix, Reno and Salt Lake City.
Southern Cal EDPA Sponsors Golf Event. The new Southern Cal Chapter of EDPA is hosting its first annual golf tournament on October 23 at the Westridge Golf Club (LaHabra, CA). This shotgun style tournament will begin at 1pm and will conclude with an awards/dinner banquet.
Proceeds from this event will go to benefit the Randy Smith Memorial Golf Classic and the EDPA Scholarship Fund. For more information go to

This publication is sent free of charge to all EACA members each Wednesday, and to non-members four weeks later. Annual subscriptions to current issues of the Buzz are available to non-members for $49.95. Please send subscription requests to jimwurm@eaca.com.
EACA members are also permitted to submit job postings to the Buzz free of charge for a one time listing. Member job postings can be extended for additional weeks in the Buzz as well as posted to the EACA web site.
