DEAR SHOWFLOOR BUZZ

This letter is to all members of the EACA and is meant as a very big compliment and thank you to some very special EACs.

On February 4, 2007 we were ready to take our equipment to the dismantle of the Houston Auto Show when we realized our truck had been stolen.  As I continued on with the task of checking in our labor, TJ Sylvia was working on the task of calling the truck leasing company, the police, and some vendors to attempt to get some replacement equipment.  As the evening progressed a ray of sunshine appeared.

TY was not having a lot of success on Sunday night finding a vendor to get the equipment and materials we would need.  But while he was working on that,  Donnie Hooper, the Carpenter’s business representative in Houston, stopped by the desk to see how we were doing.   I jokingly told him if he had any extra ladders and dollies lying around that I could sure use them.

Donnie didn’t have the equipment but he knew who did.

He made his rounds to the other contractors on the show and let them know of our predicament.  When he came by our desk again he said that some contractors would be stopping by to see me.     A few minutes later John Ford with Show Services stopped by and told me we were welcome to use whatever we needed of their equipment.   I also got the same greeting and offer from Denise Hill of EIS.   During the remainder of Sunday night,  and all through Monday,  all of our equipment needs were met by these folks who unselfishly shared their equipment with us.  There were no expectations attached to their generosity, other than our promise to do the same for them if they ever find themselves in the same situation.

On behalf of the The TERM Group, TJ Sylvia, myself and our clients I say thank you for showing great Texas hospitality and for your unselfish sharing and brotherhood in our time of need.

Thank you again to Donnie Hooper, John Ford and Mike Brown on Show Services, Denise Hill and Gloria Wood of EIS, and to all the others who lent a helping hand.  We all got our jobs done and made some friends along the way.

Sincerely,

Joe Wright

INDUSTRY NEWS

LVCVA Pushes Back Expansion   <Tradeshow Week>    Two more years.  That's how much extra time the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority needs to complete the $737 million renovation of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Despite the delay, an LVCVA spokesman said there was no talk of increasing the cost budgeted for the project.

A full year after the LVCVA board first approved the original master plan enhancement program, it has approved the project management team's request to push the completion date from 2010 to 2012. The team said designers and builders needed more time to make necessary improvements, while avoiding too much inconvenience to existing customers.

Pittsburgh CC Gets Safety OK   <M&C Midweek News> Pittsburgh's David L. Lawrence Convention Center has been declared safe by several independent engineers who conducted inspections following the collapse of a section of concrete on the center's second floor. The firms did, however, recommend that work be finished on the facility before its scheduled reopening on March 9. Crews currently are working to repair the slab of concrete that collapsed, as well as retrofitting several beams along the main expansion joint to prevent another failure

SALES TEAM EXPANSION AT MG DESIGN ASSOCIATES  MG Design Associates is pleased to announce the expansion of its Midwest sales team with two highly skilled sales and  marketing professionals; Dawn McCallan and Anthony ‘Tony’ Lenzi.
