MC2 Hosts Customer Service Training in Las Vegas      EACA member, MC2, took advantage of the EACA Customer Service Training program by hosting a private program for 25 of their showfloor staff in Las Vegas this week.   Bernie Masset, National I&D Director for MC2, said that “the training  was very effective and received high marks from all who attended.  We’re looking forward to the Level 2 training in Las Vegas, as well as bringing this Level 1 training to our work force in Orlando.”

EACA Conference to Include Strategic Selling Tips. EACA members who take part in the EACA Annual Conference will have an opportunity to participate in an invigorating, interactive presentation that instructs all sales and marketing professionals how to adopt a “CEO Mentality” as they seek to grow their book of business with existing and new clients.     As you “run your own company” you will learn how to protect the “5 vital assets” you own in order to insure maximum leverage and a return on your assets.

Chicago RSMGC Golf Tournament Announcement
 
The Chicago EACA / EDPA Chapters have announced that the 5th Annual Charity Golf Tournament benefiting the RSMGC will take place on August 6, 2007 at Maple Meadows  Golf Club in Wooddale, IL.    Please mark your calendars!!
 
There will be a Shot Gun Start at 1pm.

Next Customer Service Training – December 2007

The Chicago Chapter of the EACA, in conjunction with the MPEA and EACA National will be sponsoring its 2nd Customer Service Training Program for showfloor workers in Chicago in December of this year..
 
The second installment of the EACA Customer Service Training Program will be developed and delivered by Randy Eppard, Phd in Human Development.   Eppard is an associate professor for University of Maryland University College,   Prior to his professorship, Eppard worked for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Council of Carpenters as Director of Training Curriculum.   Randy developed th customer service program under the direction and guidance of Chicago Chapter EACA President Joe Mondelli.

ORLANDO CHAPTER ANNOUNCEMENT

EACA Orlando Chapter Meeting Announcement
 
There will be a meeting of all EACA members in Orlando on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 from  10:00 AM-12:00 PM.
 
The meeting will be held at Czarnowski’s offices at  9901 Satellite Blvd., Orlando, FL 32837 . T.  407-438-6406
 
This is a general meeting.  Please send any agenda items into Chuck Holmes
chuck@conventioncarpetservices.com . The meeting will be followed by a informal contractors discussion covering the upcoming IATSE LU 835 contract.  This will be closed door meeting limited to signatory agents only.   Thank you for your support and involvement.

Orange County Convention Center Construction Advisory

Please be advised that the OCCC has a construction project scheduled to begin on
June 12, 2007 at the West Concourse!
Location: North Bridge area, off of Exhibit Drive, near the Rosen Plaza.  

The roadway off of Exhibit Drive near the front of Halls E and Halls F will be completely shut down and only available to the construction crews on site.

We ask that you remain vigilant of the construction being conducted on property and use every safety precaution available to your business. Please bear with us if we should need to make any last minute changes. Again, I am always available if you have any questions or concerns.
This project is scheduled to be completed by July 31, 2007.

Boston explores convention center expansion  <Expo Web News>    The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) has issued a request for proposal to further develop the 62-acre plot of land that's currently home to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC). The MCCA is asking firms to focus on when and how the BCEC could be expanded.

GES WELCOMES JASON POPP AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF INTERNATIONAL
GES Exposition Services, the leader in exhibition and event services,  is pleased to announce the addition of Jason Popp as senior vice president of international.  Popp joins GES from its sister company,  Exhibitgroup/Giltspur (EG) where he also was  senior vice president of international and oversaw international divisions in the United Kingdom,  Germany and Canada.   Popp brings more than 15 years of international experience to GES and nearly ten years living and working abroad for L.E.K. Consulting and Shell International Petroleum Company.
 
GES PROMOTES LEE STERBENS TO REGIONAL GENERAL MANAGER, PACIFIC INNER MOUNTAIN DIVISION   GES Exposition Services, Inc., the national leader in  exhibition and event services recently promoted Lee Sterbens to regional general manager of the Pacific Inner Mountain division.  In his new role, Sterbens will oversee exhibition services provided to clients in  Reno, Salt Lake City, Seattle and Phoenix while maintaining his position as general  manager of Salt Lake City.
