The Rally at the Alley III, is scheduled for Thursday, March 22nd in Boston, and will be held to support one of our own, industry veteran Karin Brennan. Many of you know Karin from her positions at Folio, Innovations and Design KnowHow - she is in need of a kidney transplant and is currently undergoing dialysis.
Karin, a single mom raising two college-aged boys, is struggling with the financial hardships resulting from her ongoing medical treatments. We are asking you, our trade show family, to help support Karin both emotionally and financially.

EITF Meets March 25. The Exhibit Industry Task Force (EITF) will meet on Sunday, March 25 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas in conjunction with the Exhibitor Show. The EITF is the industry consortium, comprised of all trade show industry stakeholders, that seeks to improve and invest in the success of all trade show customers. The EITF is currently working on expanding its initiative to improve safety at all convention centers by expanding its Drug & Alcohol testing protocol to convention centers nationwide.
EACA at Exhibitor/ EACA Board Meets March 26. The EACA will have a booth (Booth #238) at the Exhibitor Show in Las Vegas, March 26 to March 28. Please be sure to stop by and say hello, and learn more about the 2007 EACA Membership Directory. In a related note, the EACA Board will be meeting at the Exhibitor Show on Monday, March 26. If any member has an issue or concern that you would like to have added to the agenda please send an email to jimwurm@eaca.com. EACA Reception at Exhibitor – Sponsored by Employco. EACA Member Directory. The EACA has initiated efforts to produce the 2007 Member Directory. All members were recently emailed information about this year’s directory and instructions on how to update your member listing and reserve ad space.

CHICAGO CHAPTER ANNOUNCEMENT Customer Service Training
The EACA Chicago Chapter (in the person of Joe Mondelli) has been working toward the development of a Customer Service Training program for our showfloor workforce. The program is in its final stages of development, and tentative dates for the first program have been determined. All EACA Chicago members are encouraged to set aside time on either April 26 (Thursday) or April 27 (Friday) to take part in this 4 hour program. More details about the Customer Service Training Program will be provided in next week’s issue of the Showfloor Buzz.!

Union authorizes strikes at Boston properties. <M&C Midweek News> Union workers at four Starwood hotels in Boston have voted to authorize a strike, should such a measure be necessary to complete contract talks with Starwood Hotels Resorts Worldwide. UNITE HERE Local 26 members approved the measure 1,013 to 27 on March 14. Most of Boston's union hotel contracts expired last November. A strike at the Boston Park Plaza, Sheraton Boston, Westin Copley Place and the Westin Boston Waterfront could occur as soon as April 1, the day after the last contract expires at the Westin Copley Place. The union said strikes would not occur at other union hotels in Boston, where workers have agreed to accept the terms Local 26 negotiates with Starwood.

This publication is sent free of charge to all EACA members each Wednesday, and to non-members four weeks later.
