with Contract Extended to May 1 <Trade
Show Executive> The threat of a strike by the Sign,
Display and Allied Crafts Union Local 510 in the Bay area was
averted when the current contract was extended until May 1.

Center , San Mateo County Event Center
and others.
The law firm of Littler Mendelson is representing contractors
including Freeman, GES Exposition Services, Champion Nationwide

DID YOU
KNOW?
New Orleans Needs
Labor.
A point of discussion at this
year’s Exhibitor Show was that as New Orleans
continues to work on its recovery from Hurricane Katrina that
it still is in dire need of labor not only for tradeshows, but
also as bussers and dishwashers at area restaurants.
The UBC is taking carpenters from construction projects in
Baton Rouge and transporting them to New Orleans when large
shows come to town in order to service exhibitors there.
Fast food restaurants like Burger King are even paying $5k
signing bonuses to attract employees to work in their
stores.
