Invitations for attending the NLM Conference will be sent out during December.

EACA-EDPA Winter Meeting Gets High Marks   The EACA, in conjunction with EDPA, held its Winter Meeting in Marco Island, FL last week to the delight of the more than 250 participants.   Enjoying a great respite from the harsh weather that was plaguing the rest of the country, EACA and EDPA members gathered to celebrate a highly successful year in the trade show industry, while tackling some of the tough issues that lay ahead.

On a high note Customer Service was a focal point of the keynote presentation, while attendees also participated in sessions on Sales Tax Liability and the EDPA White Paper on Bundling – two isssues of significant concern to many EACA and EDPA members.

All in all, reviews for the meeting were very positive and there was an increased sense of comraderie between EACA and EDPA members who were pleased to have the opportunity to get together to discuss serious business and future opportunities in a pleasant location.

Next year’s Winter Meeting is slated to be held at the Doral Golf Resort in Miami, FL.

Chicago Customer Service Training.   The EACA conducted its second trade show Customer Service Training in Chicago this week as part of the “Chicago Commitment” to improve customer servicing at shows in McCormick Place.

The EACA Customer Service Training program is a 16 hour course that is delivered in 4 hour segments. More than 100 showfloor workers participated in both Level 1 and Level 2 Customer Service Training programs.

The second installment of the EACA Customer Service Training Program will be developed and delivered by Randy Eppard, Phd in Human Development.   Eppard is an associate professor for University of Maryland University College,   Prior to his professorship, Eppard worked for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Council of Carpenters as Director of Training Curriculum.    Randy developed th customer service program under the direction and guidance of Chicago Chapter EACA President Joe Mondelli.

The EACA would like to thank the sponsors for this event including the MPEA, the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Freeman, and The TERM Group.
