Rally at the Alley Announces Dates / Beneficiary The 5th Annual Rally at the Alley will take place in Boston and is scheduled for Thursday, April 2, 2009.
This year's Rally will benefit industry veteran Chris Kolesnik. Many of you know Chris from her days at Access TCA and Exhibitgroup/Giltspur, or may have worked with her since creating Cyrkdesign in 2003. Or perhaps you know her husband, Howard Bailey, a long time employee and retiree of Exhibitgroup/Giltspur.
What you may not know is that last fall Chris was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. There's never a good time to hear you have cancer, and for Chris, last fall was no exception. Just one year prior her husband developed Temporal Arteritis, leaving him partially blind in one eye and resulting in a number of procedures and ultimately surgery.
Thank you to Michael Hanifan of Sacks Exhibits for nominating Chris for this year's Rally.
How You Can Help
Our immediate need is for event sponsors. As in past years we are asking you, our trade show family, to support the Rally as an event sponsor. Your $500.00 donation supports and defrays the cost of the facility and the expenses related to holding this event. Our event sponsorships allow 100% of the proceeds raised by our bowlers and participants to go direct to our family in need. And remember, all donations are tax deductible.
So many generous companies have donated the past four years, making the Rally at the Alley a wonderful success. Several of our local companies have generously sponsored every Rally to date! We're looking forward to welcoming them back for the fifth year with a special acknowledgement of their dedication and hope many more of you will be able to help us once again. With companies like yours supporting this event, how could we be anything but successful???
If your company or organization is able to commit to an event sponsorship, please contact Sharon Bingham (sbingham@championboston.com) as soon as possible so that we may include your company name or group on our email blasts, website and on other promotional materials.
Thank you again for your support! Please contact Sharon with any questions or to for more information on how you can help!

MPI: Remote Access to Meetings to Increase <Trade Show Executive> The high ROI provided by trade shows and meetings means clients will be unwilling to give up on face-to-face events even though attendance and budgets will be lower in 2009. The preliminary results of the FutureWatch 2009 survey by Meeting Professionals International (MPI) said planners were bracing for a rough year although technology used both on-site and for remote access to content and the actual sessions would help keep costs down and participation up.
