the highlights of our association’s year is the
awarding of our Intrepid and our Hall of Fame induction. Both events celebrate those
that have made great contributions to our
industry and whose presence make
all our jobs possible. In addition, we will be awarding
Five Year Pins to all members who
have achieved that milestone.

meeting. Come and visit with your Board and find out what new developments are in the
works for our association. Or, simply let them know what they can be doing to create
even more progress for EACs and our
industry.
Showfloor Olympics
The Showfloor Olympics rekindles the kind of fun
that we all knew when we first started in this
industry. Originally organized to
celebrate the contributions of our showfloor workers,
the Showfloor Olympics also now
has an open category for exhibit managers and other
trade show professionals. The
Olympics is a friendly competition for all to test
their skills at booth erection and trade show industry knowledge.
All member companies should be sure to sign up a
team to carry your corporate banner!

EACs and
General service contractors compete for the right to
service our industry’s customers, the exhibitor. This competition not only takes
place city to city and show to show, it is often
filled with many “creative”
tactics – some widely accepted business practices
and some that are viewed as
stretching the bounds of business
ethics.
The
negative side of these competitive practices has left a
bad taste in the mouths of many on both sides.
The EACA
feels its time to do something about these
“contractor wars”. We will initiate
that effort with this session and
look to focus on the positive side of contractors
working in collaboration. Both
EACs and GCs will have the opportunity to help
construct the set of “Best Practices” behaviors they would like to see
observed by their counterparts in the way they
compete for business and service it on
the
showfloor.
3:30pm -
5:30pm EACA Board of
Directors
Meeting
Room E353C
The EACA Board meeting will include
the election of its new Directors and Officers for 2006
- 07. All members are welcome to sit on the
meeting for the last half
hour.

their new Board of Diretors, and
newly elected officers for
2006-07.
Come help us thank outgoing
President, Dave Mihalik for his year of service as
President, and take part in the

Trade show labor continues to be a subject of
vital interest to EACA members. This session
will provide an update on
new labor agreements across the nation, as well as
frank discussion on
how facilities can and will play a role in
labor’s future. Recent events like the new
Rigger agreement in
Chicago, the Indianapolis CC forming its own labor
pool, and the labor broker in Philadelphia (Elliott Lewis) going
direct to exhibitors are just a few of the developments
that we’ll
review!

Exhibits
Contracting with suppliers for your exhibit program
can be a complicated and sometimes a mystifying process. Particularly
vexing is the ability to determine, in advance, all the
costs associated
with the acquisition of a product or a service for your
exhibit. At this panel discussion you will have an opportunity to learn
all the ins and outs of supplier contracting and
what questions you should
ask, and have answered, before contracting with your
supplier.
