BEND,
OR
(August 12, 2011) Bob Lessin, Business Representative for IUPAT Local 831 was awarded the EACA Intrepid Award at its 13th Annual Meeting in Orlando, FL last week.
The EACA Intrepid Award is given to the individual, company, or consortium, who, by a vote of the EACA membership has contributed the most to the cause of customer service in the trade show industry. "Bob could be a recipient of this award every year for his tireless efforts to create excellence in the showfloor workforce in Southern California, where Local 831 services trade shows from San Diego to Pasadena," said Jim Wurm, Executive
Director of the EACA. "In fact, this year represented the 6th time that Bob has been nominated for this award recognizing Bob's contributions to the development of a worldclass training program for showfloor workers. EACA member labor contractors routinely sing the praises of the Decorators in Southern California. That is why all of us at the EACA are so proud of his achievements," Wurm said.
The EACA Intrepid Award has been awarded annually at the EACA's Annual Meeting since the inception of the association as part of the EACA's mission to "raise the level of service excellence on the
showfloor."
The EACA
seeks to unite the nation's tradeshow community by representing and supporting
the interests of EACs and other exhibits services professionals that work on the tradeshow floor. The association is
currently comprised of more than 225 member companies representing more than
15,000 full time trade show professionals, and more than 50,000 part time trade
show workers.
Congratulations to Bob Lessin.
As a signatory company to the Local 831 contract, and as an I&D provider in 17 U.S. cities, I can speak first hand as a CUSTOMER, about the quality of the training program Local 831 has put together under Bob Lessin's leadership. We consistently receive a better quality "product" from our union partner in Southern California than we do in many of the other cities where we call out professional labor help.
In an industry, and an economy, where our customers are sometimes quick to focus on what's wrong, it is great to see the EACA shining the spotlight on something that is working so RIGHT!
