Chicago, IL (January 13, 2012) Czarnowski, a leading exhibit marketing firm, sponsored a
full-day safety training program for members of the Denver Theatrical, Stage,
Film and Exhibition Employees Union, IATSE Local 7 in Denver last month.
The CZero Accident Plan,
delivered by trainer Frank Marino, delivers detailed and specific industry
training on use and safety related to ladders, scaffolding, rigging and other
show floor equipment. Participants
in the program, held at the Colorado Convention Center, included 120 Union
members, workers dispatched from the Union Hiring Hall, employees of other
major companies in the trade show and exhibition industry, AV companies and
independent contractors. Space was provided by SMG. "Our labor Union believes
that the strong industry partnerships in this City are a contributing factor in
helping make Denver a desirable destination for meetings, trade shows and
conventions,” said Joe Psuik, union president.
Czarnowski
developed its CZero Accident Plan three years ago, and since then has trained
approximately 650 members of its internal show-floor work force. "Training has
made our work force as prepared as possible—and significantly reduced
injuries,” says John O’Shea, director of field services for Czarnowski and
current president of the Exhibit Appointed Contractor Association (EACA). O’Shea
reports that since the implementation of the program, Czarnowski has reduced
workman’s compensation claims by 75%.
Czarnowski is now offering its program to convention centers across the country. "Increased safety benefits all of us; workers, customers, convention centers and the exposition industry," says O'Shea.
At Czarnowski, we love what we do. Since 1947, companies of all
sizes and industries have counted on us to create dynamic trade show exhibits,
