EACA Looks Forward to Seeing Members at ExhibitorLive.  The Exhibitor show returns to the Mandalay Bay once again on Feb. 25-27, and the EACA looks forward to connecting with all members in attendance.   If you get a chance come by the RSMGC booth (#1938) and say hello to members who are volunteering booth duty time for that great charitable effort

UBC’s Collaborative Leadership Training.   The United Brotherhood of Carpenters will be launching the pilot program of their Collaborative Leadership Training for trade show contractors in Las Vegas next week.  This program will be attended by management personnel of EACA members at the UBC International Training Center in Las Vegas on February 21-23.   Many thanks to the UBC who picked up all the costs for this program including travel expenses.    Members who were not able to register for this pilot program are asked to email Jim Wurm ([email protected]) so we can reach out when the next program is scheduled.

EACA Board to Meet at Exhibitor.  The EACA Board of Directors will be meeting at ExhibitorLive again this year on Tuesday February 26.    If you have any questions or ideas that you’d like to present to the Board please send an email to Jim Wurm, at [email protected].

Gary Benson Names Chairman of MC2, Rich McAdam Appointed CEO.  MC² has announced today that Gary Benson has been named Chairman of MC2and Richard McAdam has been appointed as his successor to Chief Executive Officer, effective February 1, 2019.  As Chairman, Mr. Benson will continue to be active within the organization in an advisory capacity, focusing on strategic planning for several key accounts. Mr. Benson served as Chief Executive Officer since 2003. Under his leadership, Mr. Benson was instrumental in solidifying MC²’s place as one of the nation’s leading brand experience agencies.

Sho-Link Recognizes David O’Keefe.    Sho-Link, Inc. proudly names Dave O’Keefe, Chicago crew member, as the recipient of Sho-Link’s Power Performer Grand Prize 2018.  The amazing Power Performer Recognition program keeps growing in the number of recognition forms that are submitted by our members and direct clients, every year,” states Scott Rudel, President.  “The Grand Prize winner of the 2018 award, Dave O’Keefe exemplifies what this program is all about.  Our employee’s commitment to provide an exceptional experience to our clients, by building strong relationships.  I want to thank each of the monthly winners and the 709 people that have been acknowledged through this program last year

Lancaster Management Continues to Grow.    As Lancaster celebrates 15 years of service, they recently announced additions to their family.      Bo Zimmerman is an experienced  Account Executive and is a veteran in the tradeshow business.  He started his career at Zenith Labornet and more recently was with Nth Degree.  His father was one of the founders of Zenith and he was brought up in this industry with great values and pride of the services we provide.    Kati Zimmerman is our new Account Manager.  She is a veteran as well working with Expo Technique for over 10 years in project management and responsible for some of their Key Accounts.  Kati will fill the role of Account Manager and also handle Lancaster’s social media marketing.

 

Industry News

BCEC to Conduct Active Shooter Drill.  The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) relative to their pursuit of a Safety Act certification has received a DHS grant to conduct a full scale Active Shooter event at the BCEC. The date for the this drill will be March 22, 2019 at the BCEC    The drill will include a demonstration of an IED explosion as well as an active shooter scenario center around our large gaming event Penny Arcade (PAX East).   Anyone who is interested in attending must contact Robert Noonan at the MCCA for by Friday February 22nd so adequate space can be prepared for the live event on March 22nd 2019.

Derse Announces CEO Transition as Brett Haney Steps Up.  Derse, a complete face-to-face marketing company, is pleased to announce that effective Jan. 1, Brett Haney transitioned from company president to CEO. Bill Haney has stepped down as CEO but maintains his role as Derse chairman. Derse has instituted an internal and external talent search to identify a new president who will oversee the company’s day-to-day operations. The president role is expected to be filled by summer 2019.

Reed Exhibitions Buys Mack Brooks Exhibitions Reed Exhibitions has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Mack Brooks Exhibitions, adding a few dozen events to Reed’s global portfolio.

Access TCA Welcome Chris Metzger.   Access TCA announced that Chris Metzger has joined the company as senior vice president, client services.
