EACA Launches Member Purchase Program

The EACA Purchasing Program is now available.   The EACA Group Purchase program will allow members to take advantage of the combined purchasing power of our membership by obtaining better rates for the purchase of consumable items that are fundamental to their service offering.   EACA members can access the Purchase Program link on the home page and can begin shopping once you login.

Greg Matthews Joins Sho-Link as Orlando City Manager.   Sho-Link Orlando is proud to announce the new City Manager, Greg Matthews. This promotion demonstrates Sho-Link’s continued commitment to employee pride & recognition.  Matthews started working part-time with Sho-Link in 2002, becoming full-time in 2010.  Being in the industry since 1986, Matthews is a skilled carpenter, supervisor, and manager.

Exhibit City News Welcomes New Staff Members. After a traumatic six-week period in which ECN lost their editor, Arthur Bloberger, to esophageal cancer on Sept. 28, their office manager, Samanta Arjune, to a gunshot wound at the 1 October tragedy at Mandalay Bay (she’s still in rehab), and their sales director, Kathy Anaya, passing away unexpectedly after a test at St. Rose Hospital on Nov. 17, they are bouncing back with a new staff and looking forward to an exciting 2018.   Additions include Art Director Thomas Speak, General Manager, Bob Reinecke, Editor,  Jeanne Brei and Sales Rep, Carol Wilhems.

MC2 Opens New Location in Dallas Area  Global event and exhibit company MC2 has expanded its operations with a new office in Lewisville, Texas, located in the DFW Metroplex. The new office – the company’s first in Texas — has been opened to support the company’s growth and clients in the technology and automotive industries as well as being the home for the company’s Consumer Events division.  The 35,000 square-foot facility includes sales and account management services as well as warehouse and shipping facilities.

US Labor Board Overturns ‘Joint Employment’ Ruling.  <Reuters>.  A U.S. labor board overturned an Obama-era ruling that had made it easier for unions and workers to hold companies accountable for practices of contractors and franchisees, a decision welcomed by business groups that could affect a major case against McDonald’s Corp (MCD.N).

The 3-2 decision by the National Labor Relations Board reversed the standard it had set in a 2015 case involving Browning-Ferris Industries Inc. It reinstated a previous test that says companies are “joint employers” only when they exercise direct control over workers.

Make Plans to Register for the Las Vegas Randy.  

Registration is now open for the 4th Annual Las Vegas Randy.

The Las Vegas Randy will take place at Painted Desert Golf Club at 5555 Painted Mirage Rd. in Las Vegas during Exhibitor Week on Sunday, February 25. Shotgun start at 8:30am.  Buses will be provided from the Mandalay Bay on Sunday morning starting at 6:30am.  Golf registration includes golf, range balls, cart and lunch.

The Las Vegas Randy, sponsored by the RSMGC Foundation, the EACA, and the EDPA Foundation, takes place on Sunday , February 25, 2018 in conjunction with ExhibitorLive.    The Las Vegas Randy, like other RSMGC events, will benefit families in the exhibition industry who have suffered severe tragedies or face insurmountable medical expenses. The commitment of the RSMGC is to provide financial and emotional support to all past and present recipients and their families.
